Story Summary
St. Louis Rams Omen and Boogie Nights reminder. General Wesley Clark probably won''t get a vote from Bill Gates either.

Stupid Omens
I have heard this more than once, but when the St. Louis Rams went to the Super Bowl they lost their final regular season game on the road in Philadelphia in 1999. Ooh... spooky. But let's look at 1999 if you will. The Eagles finished their regular season with wins against the 8-8 New England Patriots and the Super Bowl Bound Rams. But the Rams had already locked up the number 1 seed in the playoffs with a 13 and 2 record going into the game and a seven game winning streak on the line. With 3:41 seconds to go in the 3rd Quarter, Dick Vermeil brought in that storied quaterback Joe Germaine to mop-up for Kurt Warner. This is NO OMEN. Unless you consider that Warner mopped up for the "injured" Marc Bulger. Eek.

Note To Self: Pay Motel Bill
Reminding me of the scene from Boogie Nights where Reed and Dirk argue that they need their tapes to get a record deal so that they can pay for their recording time, a story out of Suburban Philly:
"Police in Towamencin Township say they were called by the night manager to the Days Inn on Sumneytown Pike in the Kulpsville section because a guest refused to pay and refused to leave.
When local and state police responded, they found a fully operational drug lab inside the guest room. Chemical tests will determine whether the man was manufacturing methamphetamines. "

Hardcore porn auteur Jack Horner is the patriarch of a production company riding the success of star/earth mother Amber Waves and young stud Dirk Diggler.
Reed Rothchild (John C. Reilly): Okay, now you're talking above my head. I don't know all of this industry jargon, YP, MP. All I know is that I can't get a record contract, we cannot get a record contract unless we take those tapes to the record company. And granted, the tapes themselves are a uh um oh, you own them, alright, but the magic that is on those tapes. That fucking heart and soul that we put onto those tapes, that is ours and you don't own that! Now I need to take that magic and get it over the record company. And they're waiting for us, we were supposed to be there a half hour ago. We look like assholes, man!
