Story Summary
Who will Kerry pick for VP? Howard Dean? John Edwards? John McCain? Brian Dunkleman? And how do you SCRUB urban blight?
|
NYPD Dunkleman
Where the hell is Brian Dunkleman? You know, The un-funny half of the un-funny duo that hosted the first season of American Idol? Last night, he played a sullen, unshaven, comedian under suspician for murder on NYPD Blue. To be honest, I wasn't sure that wasn't much of a stretch for the comic. Dunkleman will go down in history with Andrew Ridgely and Phillip Michael Thomas.
One man's Blight? Another Man's Profit
This is an interesting story that has hit Philly recently. And one that I can't seem to find out where I stand. You can see on a building, which is on the North Side of the Vine Street Expressway, a HUGE billboard, a wall wrap, featuring Lance Armstrong and Subaru. Ads have been appearing on this building for a couple of years, including a couple of Gap ads that I sure miss.
But unfortunately the wall wraps are illegal. And finally after appeal after appeal has been denied, a judge has finally ordered the wall wraps removed, and any profit gained since the last PA Supreme Court appeal was denied to be turned over to the City of Philadelphia. Seems like a win for everyone right? Advertising which has increasingly taken over every eye-space in your daily travels has been halted at least on one building. The City of Philadelphia could expect a nice windfall, to be used to buy books for it's school children. And those traveling I-676 can be treated to a wonderful image of an ugly brown building. Well one man's blight.

Campaign 2004: Kerry-Dean? How about Kerry McCain?
Another interesting day on the Campaign trail. Kerry has some strong words for President Bush's economic policies, while he continues on the path to decide his running mate and to pick up endorsements. Kerry meets with Dean today and will meet with John Edwards soon. And what would you think of John McCain as a running mate??? He doesn't think it's that bad idea.
